An Apology
2012.04.25 05:43:50

Sorry about not making it online Saturday guys. I suddenly had RL obligations that I had not expected to come into play, got distracted and forgot about the meeting time. I do sincerely apologize and will let you all know as soon as possible as to when the meeting will take place. (I'm thinking this Saturday but want to make sure my schedule is cleared 100% before saying for sure.)

Spiritwalker is reforming our leadership team!
2012.03.09 06:34:20

Hey guys,

Since Gulfwing and I are the only remaining active officers I want it to be officially known that we are reforming our leadership team.

We are now ready to start shaping Spiritwalker into being able to take us to the next level. This means we need more people to step up to help take over the various responsibilities in order for us to do so.

Open officer positions include: Raid leaders x2 - for American nights during the week (flexible time) and Saturday afternoons (3pm) for Underfoot and newer expansions. Recruitment, backflagging and progression x2 - one for days and one for nights.

What is not filled from current ranks inside the guild will be filled by new recruits. If interested in jumping on board shoot me a tell in game, message me on Facebook or email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for details.

Sony Detects Unauthorized Sign-In Attempts
2011.10.12 21:17:25

Following the recent hacker attack that kept Sony Online Entertainment offline for two weeks in May, Sony has "detected a large amount of unauthorized sign-in attempts on PlayStation Network (PSN), Sony Entertainment Network (SEN) and Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) services." The activity occurred between October 7-10 and was an attempt to validate account information that was apparently stolen from other sources. Credit card numbers associated with these accounts are not at risk.

Here are the main details from Sony's press release:

"Less than one tenth of one percent of our PSN, SEN and SOE consumers may have been affected. There were approximately 93,000 accounts (PSN/SEN: approximately 60,000 accounts; SOE: approximately 33,000) where the attempts succeeded in verifying those accounts’ valid sign-in IDs and passwords, and we have temporarily locked these accounts. As a preventative measure, we will be sending email notifications to these account holders and will be requiring secure password resets or informing consumers of password reset procedures."

To reiterate, these unauthorized sign-in attempts were to verify account information that appears to be taken from other sources. According to Philip Reitinger, Sony's SVP and Chief Information Security Officer, "the overwhelming majority of the pairs resulted in failed matching attempts."

"We want to take this opportunity to remind our consumers about the increasingly common threat of fraudulent activity online, as well as the importance of having a strong password and having a username/password combination that is not associated with other online services or sites," Reitinger said. "We encourage you to choose unique, hard-to-guess passwords and always look for unusual activity in your account."

Today's Raid is...
2011.10.08 16:03:34

Dragons, Dragons, Dragons and Giants, Giants, Giants! They end on the 11th. That means that today is our last raid day to do them so I am asking everyone to please make an effort to attend the raid so that we have enough dps to do both events in their entirety before they are gone for another year. The range and charm augments are well worth it! There are no taskadds (it locks at the beginning) so make sure you are on time!

Great Raid
2011.09.25 12:18:10

Last night we did the Dragons, Dragons, Dragons raid and had a great time! We killed 19 of the dragons and timed out on Kerafym (the 20th and final dragon) at 50%.

We had no wipes, no major drama and minimum deaths the whole way through. Even though we had a couple bugged events because we beat them too fast we were still able to proceed although a bit slower as we had to port to pok and re-enter the instance to proceed with the next even, which caused us a lot of lost time. I'm sure had the events not bugged we would have downed all 20 dragons.

We look forward to doing Giants, Giants, Giants next Saturday! These augments are well worth it but remember once the instance is gotten there are NO taskadds as it locks immediately, so make sure you are online and ready to raid by 3pm eastern time! (All guests are welcome)

Veil of Alaris Beta Registration is Live
2011.09.14 06:53:47

SOE is now accepting registrations for the Veil of Alaris expansion beta. Here is the word from EQLive:

We are now accepting sign-ups for the EverQuest® Veil of Alaris™ expansion beta. The beta period is expected to begin on Tuesday, September 13, 2011.

As with previous years' beta, the sign-up process has been made easier for you… and for us! Once you sign up, the system places you in a pool of potential beta testers. When the invite stages occur, beta testers will automatically be selected from that pool. We will, however, still be limiting the number of participants during different beta stages—the difference is that now you don't have to wait for a window of opportunity to sign up. The beta sign-up page will remain open until the beta ends. Once you sign up, you do not need to sign up again.

Please remember that when you sign up to participate in any beta you agree to the Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) terms. In short, this means you agree not to disclose information about the expansion. You must read and accept the full NDA before you get placed in the pool.

Before clicking the link below, make sure you update your email address on your account. If you do not update your email address the emails sent by the system will not reach you.

You can update your email address by clicking the email settings button under the My Account option. Got that? Update your account before signing up for beta! For your convenience, the beta page has an option to update your email address.

Note to Fan Faire Attendees: 2011 Vegas Fan Faire Attendees will be included in the early stages of beta. If you officially* attended the 2011 Fan Faire, you will still need to sign up for beta in order to get flagged correctly. Be sure to use the account that you used for Fan Faire.

*Officially attended means that you registered and provided your correct station account and email address. There is no need to contact Customer Service regarding your access until you see an announcement on EQ Players stating that the flagging of Fan Faire attendees has been completed. We will provide instructions for anyone who might have been missed.

Now you're ready to Sign Up for the EQ Expansion Beta.

See you in Beta!

FIPPY DOWN!
2011.08.28 00:20:32

Fippy has opened the doorway to Underfoot raid progression!

We went and took revenge on Fippy! The first of many Underfoot wins to come for Spiritwalker and our raid guests!

After going after Fippy last week and getting him to 62% then coming back this week, we won! It was a seriously fun raid with learning strats and adapting as we go, while successfully winning after such a short time!

You all showed team work,  the Spiritwalker spirit and I look forward to killing Fippy again! We are also going to add Cooling Chambers (The Beast Below) and Pallucid Grotto (The Unburrowing) to our raid list now! Ideally we will beat all 3 raid events every Saturday granting us and our raid guests up to 9 coins for raid progression into T7!

After defeating Fippy tonight we went to Korafax to get 2 of our guests tower keys, below is our task window lockout timer, cropped to save size of course.

Fippy Win

We hope you all, Spiritwalker members and guests alike, join us next week for another Fippy win and an attempt on a new Underfoot target! I had a lot of fun and appreciate the effort you all put in!

Way to go guys and grats on the new win, you all rock!

See you next week,

Froakah

Great raid!
2011.08.20 21:08:01

We had a great raid tonight with a really nice turn out and we took Fippy down to almost 60% having flawlessly handled the first 20% and first 15 adds! It was a seriously awesome experience, and you guys did a fantastic job. I look forward to going back next week to show him who is really the boss!!

Once we called the Fippy run a great a attempt and moved on we went and killed VL. It was a harder fight this week with so few tanks, clerics ´(I was the only one!) and dps after the target change but we pushed through and with the spiritwalker team work we killed him granting a guildie (Grats Deadone) and a raid friend (Grats Yarr) Tower keys.

Next saturday at 3pm easter time (new york) we will head back to push Fippy around and may even go to tower afterwards so make sure your on time and lets have some more fun and get our strats down for another progressive raid step!

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO CAME TONIGHT! I, as well as the rest of the guild, appreciate your support!

The result of low raid attendance!
2011.08.13 19:02:08

Every week we go through a lot of effort of planning our raids, preparing everything that is needed for them and recruiting guests to join us just so we can raid. Some weeks we have a seriously good turn out of 5 or more groups of JUST Spiritwalker and other weeks we have a total of 3 groups including guests. I don't know why but I can tell you that it drives me crazy to schedule raid after raid to hope that we have the turn out to do them.

Tonight we had to cancel a raid, the first we have to cancel in a while due to low turn out. I even had it posted on the website for 2 weeks in advance and still only 1 person clicks the register button saying they will attend and only 20 people (including guests) show up. So why and what can we do to insure that we have a solid turn out in the future for every raid?

The guild is growing and our raid attendance is shrinking! Something is seriously wrong here!

We have some people who show up for every raid (THANK YOU!) and some of these even get up at 5am to do so (I admire and appreciate your dedication!) but others may or may not show or never show at raid time.

I know that I get very discouraged when I put so much effort in to plan, research, post it on the site, send out newsletters and spread the word among the server just to have to cancel the raid because people aren't there. I know I'm not the only one getting discouraged but it doesn't have to be that way if people would just plan to show up to support the guild once per week.

We want to make it into House of Thule raids but cannot even get a dependable turn out for Underfoot, or SoD how are we going to make it to House of Thule? I'll tell you. Either we won't or people have to start showing up Saturdays to support the guild. Every Saturday!

If they like the raid target or not and help us make it happen. It is the ONLY way we will get past this hump and make it into raiding high end without that hard core push and mandatory raiding!

Do we have to stop announcing targets in advance so people can't chose which they want to attend or not??

Do we add a required raid percentage to our rules?

Do we have to go mandatory raiding?

Do we stop planning raids altogether?

I think it would be a shame if we had to go any of those routes because people just won't log in on Saturday afternoon to support the guild but something has to change so we move forward!!

New Expansion, New Security and More
2011.07.08 07:37:12

Executive Producer David Georgeson announced that the next EverQuest expansion will be called Veil of Alaris, and it's going to raise the level cap to 95. The expansion will feature a brand new continent and 12 new zones, as well as new content such as quests, loot, monsters and raids. It will also include completely new guild halls, and we'll find out who orchestrated the demise of Cazic-Thule and why. Veil of Alaris is scheduled to launch in late November.

SOE Security Authenticators

Smedley apologized for the recent hacker attack that shut down SOE's services for a couple weeks in May and announced that new security authenticator keychains will go live in all games tomorrow, July 8. Everyone at Fan Faire will be getting one for free. Also, free mobile versions will be available for the iPhone and Android devices in the coming weeks.

Raid Target Announcement
2011.05.28 00:55:36

With the amount of recently returned players we are going to be hitting Tower raids (SoD) - as well as Korafax raids for keys - to help get people geared up and back into the swing of raiding.

If you are not Korafax flagged post in the forums with what you need so we can try to help you get it done.

Also please post if you have your Tower key so know who still needs one.

I look forward to raiding with you all next week, enjoy a safe and fun Memorial Day!

~Froakah

P.S. With outstanding turn outs we will also hit UF targets.

We are recruiting! Returning players are welcome!
2011.05.23 12:58:08

Established May 25, 2001 on Terris Thule.

Spiritwalker is an old school guild with international members. We are always working toward being our best and advancing through high end raid content without the hardcore push. All while striving to be the best we can both individually and as a team.

This is accomplish by raiding current content, goal setting, guild groups, progression & backflagging assistance - as well as striving to make sure that no one is left behind.

All while maintaining our fun, yet mature, "family" atmosphere and still believing in the 'play nice' policy.

We raid on Saturday's at 3pm eastern US time (which is 8pm GMT) and are looking to add two more additional raid days to our schedule. Our raids are non-mandatory but we use a point system and have a 100% turn out of those who are online; however we will not kick you out or otherwise penalize you if you miss a raid.

REQUIREMENTS:

Our normal requirements are being lowered in honor of our 10 years in EverQuest anniversary as well as the amount of returning players currently.

Level: If you are under level 85 you must work on level instead of AA so you can participate more with the guild (and survive).

AA: All AA Requirements are waived at this moment in time

Progression: No progression requirements, we have progression and backflagging officers, as well as helpful members, to help catch you up to T4 HoT.

We are not an alt guild so you must join with your main but can then add as many alts and alternate accounts as you like.

To join you need to register on our website and then send any officer an in-game tell.

I look forward to meeting, hunting, raiding and growing with you!

See you in game,

Froakah Sternenstaub
